- Form long time ago, people were living a lay life. Even there was nothing called money. If people wanted to get something they did not have it, they had to exchange with other people something they were producing. For instance, a person was farmer and he wanted some equipment from a carpenter, so the farmer had to give some harvest to the carpenter to get what he wanted, and that is a view from economy aspect.
- Yet there were nothing called school or university. If a person wanted to get knowledge, he had to go to someone to teach him how to do particular career. For example, a person wanted to work at a farm, so he had to go to a farmer to teach him how could used a farm equipments such as how could he dug a hole etc. after all these teaching the farmer did not give any certificate to that person, but nowadays, everything changes economy, education, transportation etc.
- Many people have muss up between result and purposes. Some people think these two words are synonym, and another people think there is different but not wide. In fact, there is wide different between these two words.
- Then, What does result mean? A result is the final destination, and before a person achieves this destination. There are steps or series of actions it should be done. What does purpose mean? A purpose is a reason for aim why a person is doing this, a motivator. A major question does people look for purposes or results?
- Everything changes even people purposes and results. Now, people go to university because they do not want to learn new knowledge to become export on it, but they just want a last physical result which is a certificate.
- That mean the purposes of people change from get a new knowledge to get an evidence paper tells people they were at this university. In the past, people stayed with his instructor until they knew how could made particular thing, but nowadays people do not care if they can do their careers or not. They just want a certificate to get a job.
- Well, when a person follows these people who get a certificate with low quality. Almost all of them are doing their jobs with “anything or whatever” because they did not have knowledge. Just, few people from them can do their jobs with good quality, and that for different causes some of them like their jobs, feel a responsibility or look for money.
- That does not mean if people won't go to a university. They cannot do their job with good quality, that means people have to know what they want, and look for purpose not for a last physical result.
- There are a lot of examples about that, and one of these examples is when students cheat in their assignments from their friends because they are looking for a result which is greed then pass this course, but they did not look for purposes which is why did an instructor give them these assignments.
- People have to renew their purposes and look forward, what they exactly want. What are purposes to do this or that? Because many people in their life mix up between physical results and purposes aims. In this article mentioned one aspect in people lives which is education, but people have to know it is applied in everything in their lives.

Um..I do not know what should I say agree or disagree.Because I did not got your idea 100%.However I agree with you that in the past the student was trevaling by his feet and go to another country just ro get the education,and I now same of them in our Arab culture .Such as "Baki Bin Makhlad". This was before about 900 years ago.Also, in the past the students go in the mousqe to learn Isalm religin, Mathe,chmistry and other scinces.They were satting in a circle on the ground.I think that was good to live in a simple life.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion. It is made me confusing by the two definition. Sometimes I was in confusion. For example, when I got a part-time job during vacation, I efforted to earn money and wanted to be experience in business. However, I wondered about there are my purpose or result of work. I did not understand which one is my real purpose and which one is a simple result. It is difficult to sit in judgement because there have lots of similarity. But as you said, people should have refined the meaning. It is significant for their work, study, also future. people can live firmer when they grasped the concept.

I think people are thinking the result is more important than purpose.Some people steal their money, they just want to be rich or just can but something, but they forget they will go to jail. Just like your example,when some students are cheating, they only want to get the dgree, they are not sure what is the purpose of the exam. I think as a adult, everyone has their own dream, we should pursue our dream individualy. And we should understand the purpose is more important. Like a student, he does not know how to solve the math problem, he copied from his friend, but he still do not know how to solove. That is the problem we should pay attention.
ReplyDeletepersonally, in my opinion people think the result is important than purpose, because we have many kinds of ways to get the purpose, such as if we want to got high socre in test, we can copy the answers from classmates, but we lost test ourselves chance, also we did not attain knowledge. on the conrast, if we thinking the result by oursleves, we not only got the knowledge, but also got the high score in test. so whatever we do, the first thing is that we should understand what the reslut that we do or what we will got from the reslut.

Yes, I agree with your idea. Sometimes people do things just for their finally purpose without considering the progress, the reslut,or the infuluence. Even sometimes these resluts gonna hurt others. And you said about the education. People go to school in order to get the final deploma and to get a well-payed job. it's not always bad I think, at least you have a gole and try to make it happened.

You know, for a comprehensive maths question, there are often more than one kind of methods may be used to work out the final conclusion. However, there is only one or two of them be used in common, we called them conventional process. When we face a subject, we ought to consider them firstly because these way can lead you toward to the correct answer without any doubt. "In case", but some my classmates always think of "in case", which means if there are some simple and convenient methods recessed absolutely uncommon, we should find them at firstly. At the end, my teacher given us a words, doing anything, if there are 10000 methods, before you find out some called "in case", you should find out and do well the other 9999 firstly.

I think just because we do all of the things need purpose. If the purpose disappearce, we may cannot do anything.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Along with development of society, more and more people have finished their education higher and higher. There are also more and more challenges waiting for us. The skill knowledge is not enough for human anymore, and we are looking for some more difficult. At the same time, the skill knowledge has become easier than before because of the high technology, but the quality has become worse and worse. The reason is the purpose. In the past, people produced and assembled one thing that might spend one year or even ten years, because the purpose was not the result. People spent a lot of time on it, and wanted to beat themselves or to make it perfect rather than just finish it. However, now, people focus on result not the purpose, at the same time, the purpose has been misunderstood.

This is really difficult, yet important topic. Unfortunately, it is late now (almost 2:00 am), and my brain is not functioning fully. Besides, I am drunk now. So I don't think I can express my thought clearly here.
ReplyDeleteProbably, your argument should be whether we should aim at results or processes, not purposes as both of these can be a purpose of studying. I mean, do we study only to get a certificate? Or do we study for its own sake? Surely, this depends on each person.
In elementary, junior high, and even senior high school, we seldom encounter anyone who say they like studying. Then why do some people keep studying for years? Why do some of them even come to PhD? Why do some of them become researchers? That is probably studying itself has a prospective intrinsic motivation. The more you know about it, the more it gets interesting. Surely, it cannot be applied to everyone. Some just hate learning no matter how good they are. But there is a potential that they are attractive by itself.
I guess only a handful of people decide to study out of curiosity. The majority of people come to higher education just to get a good job. But eventually they become interested in the topic, and decide to stay in academia. To me, the initial motivation does not matter. What matters is how they end up. If they choose to keep studying, that is their role to play in society, and who cares why they chose that career?
In addition, even if you are in academic only to get a certificate, it does not mean that you are not learning anything. To some extent, you are acquiring something at least. Can we still call it "learning?" I think so. Learning can take a variety of forms. People have different motivations, and no matter what they are, if they learn something, I think that is much better than learning nothing.
Anyhow, I agree with you. People should study for its own sake. But it is not realistic in the current world. Face the reality, but still we are all learning by only going to school. We should be happy about that.
